Reporting is designed to be private. We do not disclose the reporter’s identity to the person whose content or account was reported.
How reporting works
If you come across something that does not feel right, you can report it. Reporting is private — the person you report is not told who submitted the report.
What you can report
- Posts and videos
- Comments
- Profiles
- Messages or conversations where reporting is available
How to report
- Open the menu. Tap the “···” or report option on the relevant content, profile or message.
- Choose Report. Select the reason that best describes the issue.
- Add details if useful. Additional context can help our moderation team understand the report.
- Submit. The report is recorded for moderation and safety review.
To reduce duplicate reports, Peekamoji may limit multiple open reports from the same account on the same item while an earlier report is still being processed.
What happens after a report
Reports are recorded and evaluated using moderation signals, context and severity. Depending on the report, content may be automatically triaged, restricted pending review, or sent to a moderator.
- The report is recorded. We securely store the report and relevant information needed to assess it.
- Safety signals are evaluated. We may consider report reasons, severity, previous signals and other contextual information.
- Content may enter review. Certain functionality may be temporarily limited while a review is pending.
- A moderation decision is made. The content is assessed against our Community Guidelines and applicable policies.
- The relevant user may be notified. Where appropriate, the content owner receives information about the outcome without the reporter’s identity being disclosed.
Possible outcomes
- No action: the content does not violate our rules.
- Marked sensitive: content remains available with a warning or blur.
- Restricted or hidden: visibility or certain actions are temporarily limited.
- Removed: content is taken down for violating our rules.
- Account action: warnings, feature limits, suspension or permanent removal may apply in serious or repeated cases.
Report volume alone does not automatically determine whether content violates our rules. We consider context, severity and available evidence.
Moderation indicators
You may see indicators on content or profiles that explain a moderation status and why certain actions may be unavailable.
Under review
The content is being assessed. Sharing, forwarding, downloading or other functions may be temporarily limited until review is completed.
Sensitive
The content may contain material that some people could find disturbing or unsuitable. It may appear blurred or behind a warning and may not auto-play.
Moderation indicators describe the status of content — they are not a judgement about the person who posted it. If content is restored, temporary indicators and restrictions may be removed.
Sensitive content handling
Some content may not violate our rules but may still be disturbing or unsuitable for everyone. When appropriate, Peekamoji can place a warning or blur over the content so users remain in control of what they see.
- Sensitive content may be blurred or placed behind a warning.
- Users may be able to choose whether to reveal it.
- Auto-play, preview, sharing, forwarding or download may be limited.
- A moderator may mark content sensitive instead of removing it where that is a proportionate response.
If a creator believes a moderation decision was incorrect, they can contact our support team for review.
